Meet the project team

The center has been operating from 1998 years. The center provides day care for the social mind and mental disabilities from 18 years old and support their families. Center have a qualified team, successfully participate in the integration of persons with disabilities and other social services infrastructure. The implementation of various projects aimed at integrating the disabled into society, non-formal education and competence development. Activity center provides social day care services for 24 disabled young people and the long-term social care structural unit of Life House - 11 persons.

The role of Hæfingarstöðin (habilitation centre) in Bæjarhraun is to service adults with disability that need long-term support. Habilitation means employment and social training to reduce the effects of the disability and increase the ability to work and participate in daily life. The focus is on training which maintains and increases working strength, independent work practices and social skills. The aim is to increase opportunities for clients to develop their own strengths which then leads to further participation in their own life, as well as the community.

The Bliss-association  is an association that has as purpose to spread information about communication and specially around Bliss-symbolics in Belgium and the Netherlands for AAC users, their environnement and professionals. The main activities are organising Bliss-weekends for people with disabilities and their environnement, maintainig contacts among professionals and manufacturies, developing Bliss-symbolics through international panelmeetings.
